Meet with a TRIO advisor regularly to develop an academic plan to complete an associate's degree at Edmonds College and/or transfer on to a 4-year college or university. A TRIO advisor will discuss a student's educational goals, help plan for balanced course loads, develop quarter-by-quarter academic plans, and assist with priority registration. TRIO advisors can assist students to become not only transfer ready for their four-year institutions of choice, but major ready for their program as well!
Meet with a licensed mental health counselor on staff to receive personal and career counseling. Students can work with the counselor to address challenges they are facing in school and life, as well as develop a stronger understanding of their educational and career goals.
Financial Aid and Scholarships
TRIO staff can provide assistance with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), as well as the annual renewal process with Financial Aid Services department, and support students when addressing petitions for reinstatement due to probation or termination of aid. TRIO shares news of scholarships, can guide with the search for scholarship, as well as assist with completing scholarship applications and reviewing essays.
TRIO provides personalized, one-on-one tutoring to participants in various subjects. TRIO utilizes a variety of peer and part-time staff tutors who are knowledgeable in the course information and are trained to help students better understand course content in order to increase success and enhance self confidence.
TRIO offers a welcoming space for students, filled with large tables to study at, various student computer work stations with printing, and other resources to assist students.
